What is an authorized marriage licence issuer?

In Manitoba, a marriage licence is the legal document that gives you permission to marry – it’s separate from your marriage certificate, which is the record you receive after the wedding.

Marriage licences aren’t sold at every counter; they’re issued only by
businesses and individuals appointed by Manitoba Vital Statistics. As an
appointed issuer, Lakewood Florist can legally prepare and sell your licence on
the Province’s behalf, then walk you through exactly what to do next. Being
“authorized” or “appointed” means the same thing: we’re on the official list of
places allowed to issue Manitoba marriage licences.

We're open 7 days a week to make this convenient for you. No need to make an appointment!
